Rabbit breeding as a branch of animal husbandry in Moldova is now on its infancy. The rabbit meat market is empty, therefore, this direction of animal husbandry is one of the most promising in the country. Considering that in Moldova are grown about 367 thousand rabbits per year (mainly in households), which is less than 1 percent of the country’s total livestock breeding, there is an urgent need of engaging in industrial rabbit breeding to meet the consumption requirement of this product.
An important factor contributing to the Urechilă farm success is, the inability of existing competitors to satisfy the national market conditions, being content with a narrow circle of consumers, such as restaurants, recreation centers, etc., which usually they’re not impose strict cooperation conditions (volumes, packaging, etc.). Just as an indicator of the weak competitors development, you can take their presence and activity in the Internet space, which is limited to a few news articles and some pages on social networks.
All of the above facts create today a favorable atmosphere for the Urechilă Farm business development.
